Otophyma, Zygophyma And Giant Rhinophyma

A patient, 64-year-old, is referred for the treatment of a giant rhinophyma. He refused any treatment during eight years.

The interest of this case report is the size and the weight of the rhinophyma, the obstruction of the nasal airways and the resulting social disturbance. This exceptional clinical rhinophyma was associated with an otophyma, a zygophyma and ophthalmic disease.

To our knowledge, this clinical presentation has never been reported before. The management of the rhinophyma and the otophyma was surgical excision, secondary healing followed by a full thickness skin graft associated to a fullface mechanical dermabrasion

Azelaic acid in the treatment of papulopustular rosacea

To evaluate the clinical efficacy of topical 20% azelaic acid cream and 15% azelaic acid gel compared with their respective vehicles and metronidazole gel in the treatment of papulopustular rosacea . Management of benign skin lesions commonly affecting the face: actinic keratosis, seborrheic keratosis, and rosacea.

It is important to be able to both recognize these lesions and offer patients the most effective therapies currently available. Advances in the understanding and management of three of the more common benign skin lesions affecting the face will be addressed in this review, with a particular emphasis on the most current therapeutic options for each lesion. RECENT FINDINGS: Actinic keratosis can now be treated with photodynamic therapy or with many topical agents, as alternatives to traditional surgical techniques. Seborrheic keratosis, as well as actinic keratosis and rosacea, are now often treated with laser therapy.
