If the tequila bar at Tres Agaves is one of your after-work hangs, be forewarned you’ll find them closed tonight. We’re still waiting on some specific details, but a rep for the restaurant tells Grub Street they’ll be shuttered until March 3 for some sprucing up. We’re sure Willie Brown would like to see some changes in the kitchen, too. File under: Developing. Update: From the sounds of it, the restaurant wants to improve the flow of traffic and change the layout of the bar a bit, but there may be more in store.

Our source tells us, given some of the new competition in the neighborhood like Twenty Five Lusk, they may be looking to “elevate” the menu slightly and possibly add some items. And there is a discussion afoot about a possible name change as well. Still filed under developing. [Grub Street]

Rosacea is a common skin condition but the treatments currently available are not satisfactory. OBJECTIVES: To assess the efficacy of intense pulsed light (IPL) for treatment of stage I rosacea (flushing, erythema and telangiectasia). METHODS: Thirty-four patients were treated, 25 women and nine men, mean age 47 years. The treatment employed was IPL 515-1200 nm, with a 560 nm cut-off filter. The fluence range was 24-32 J cm(-2). Four treatments were administered on the face at 3-week intervals. Erythema values were measured at baseline and at the end of the treatment period on the cheeks and chin. Rosacea is a common condition of unknown etiology usually accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms and favorably responding to the treatment with antibiotics. This study was designed to examine the prevalence of gastric Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection verified by 13C-UTB-test, CLO, Hp culture and serology (IgG) in patients with rosacea. Gastroduodenoscopy was combined with pentagastrin secretory test and antral and fundic biopsy samples were taken for histological evaluation (the Sydney system).
